The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated (CAKE) has reported a 3.21 percent rise in profit for the quarter ended Apr. 04, 2017. The company has earned $35.04 million, or $0.71 a share in the quarter, compared with $33.95 million, or $0.68 a share for the same period last year. On the other hand, adjusted net income for the quarter stood at $35.52 million, or $0.72 a share compared with $33.95 million or $0.68 a share, a year ago.

Revenue during the quarter went up marginally by 1.76 percent to $563.43 million from $553.69 million in the previous year period. Gross margin for the quarter expanded 70 basis points over the previous year period to 77.08 percent. Total expenses were 92.27 percent of quarterly revenues, up from 91.22 percent for the same period last year. That has resulted in a contraction of 104 basis points in operating margin to 7.73 percent.

Operating income for the quarter was $43.56 million, compared with $48.59 million in the previous year period.
